The Julia Stoschek Foundation is one of the world’s most comprehensive private collections of time-based art. Works in the collection span video, film, single- and multi-channel moving image installation, multimedia environments, performance, sound, and virtual reality.
The exhibition “Worldbuilding. Video Games and Art in the Digital Era”, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist, celebrates the 15th anniversary of the collection. It explores how gaming, once considered a niche leisure activity, conquered everyday life and pop culture and how it found its way into art.
