The Philara Collection is a privately owned institution housing multi-faceted contemporary artworks across various genres. Through the close connection to the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Philara supports especially young up-coming artists.

Two exhibitions will be on display. The exhibition “I’ve Only Got Eyes for You” presents the latest acquisitions of the collection. The artists work on the themes of identity, bodily experience, and representation in an increasingly complex world. “Breathing Water, Drinking Air” partly shows artworks that have never been exhibited before and addresses the fluid boundaries between humans and nature in the Anthropocene.

Die Sammlung Philara ist eine private Institution, die facettenreiche zeitgenössische Kunstwerke aus verschiedenen Genres beherbergt. Durch die enge Verbindung zur Kunstakademie Düsseldorf fördert Philara vor allem junge, aufstrebende Künstlerinnen und Künstler.

Es werden zwei Ausstellungen zu sehen sein. Mit der Ausstellung “I’ve Only Got Eyes for You” präsentiert die Sammlung ihre neusten Ankäufe. Die Künstlerinnen und Künstler arbeiten mit den Themen Identität, körperlichen Erfahrungen und Repräsentation in einer zunehmend komplexen Welt. “Breathing Water, Drinking Air” zeigt zum Teil noch nie zuvor ausgestellte Werke der Sammlung und thematisiert die fluiden Grenzen zwischen Mensch und Natur in Zeiten des Anthropozäns.
